Meet the Team

Dr Victoria Harrington BBMedSc BVSc (Hons 1)– Veterinarian/Owner

Dr Victoria Harrington is a born and bred Ivanhoe girl, having grown up in Ivanhoe East and attending Mother of God Primary School. In fact, Dr John Walton was her family vet when he operated the East Ivanhoe Veterinary Clinic, inspiring Victoria to pursue a career in Veterinary Science.

After completing secondary school at Our Lady of Mercy College in Heidelberg, Victoria went on to complete a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University (2000-2002). In 2003, she relocated to the sunny shores of Sydney to commence a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney, graduating with first class honours in 2007.

Following graduation, Victoria followed her heart back to Melbourne, commencing a new graduate position at the Bundoora Veterinary Clinic and Hospital/ Northern Suburbs Animal Emergency Centre in December 2007. This busy clinic gave Dr Victoria the best start she could have ever hoped for, allowing her the opportunity to learn many aspects of internal medicine, surgery and emergency medicine in a highly supportive environment. She happily remained at this clinic until November 2011 before becoming a part of the Ivanhoe team.

Victoria was overjoyed to begin working in the Ivanhoe area, already having such strong links to the Ivanhoe community. Since joining the practice she has not only brought a strong knowledge base and skill set but also genuine enthusiasm and compassion for her patients and clients alike. She has a particular interest in Dermatology, taking as many opportunities as possible to work alongside skin vet Dr Rob Hilton. In her down time, Victoria loves staying fit, either walking her two dogs Barney and Scruffy, attending the gym or swimming til her hearts content!

2014 was a very eventful year for Dr Victoria! In July 2014, she and her husband Simon, welcomed baby Benjamin into their lives and in December she happily took on ownership of the Ivanhoe Veterinary Clinic, replacing the much loved Dr John Walton as practice owner.

Dr Victoria looks forward to being a part of the Ivanhoe Veterinary Clinic for many years to come and forming life long bonds along the way.
